Travel Wings faced two intertwined challenges: first, breaking into South Africa’s travel market meant reaching an audience with high purchasing power that expects premium service and messaging; second, they wanted their marketing spend to do more than just generate awareness - it needed to drive real community impact. Nested in that was their desire to make measurable contributions to job creation and economic upliftment. Their advertising needed to deliver reach and purpose.

Solution
MotionAds delivered a triple-pronged campaign strategy that addressed both the marketing and CSR objectives. They deployed branded delivery bikes across key high-LSM neighborhoods in Johannesburg, Centurion and Cape Town, turning the bikes into moving billboards. Flyers were attached to Uber Eats deliveries, carrying promos, discount coupons, QR codes, and messaging crafted to resonate with target audiences, bringing Travel Wings directly into homes.
To amplify engagement, a “spot the bike” Facebook competition was run, along with CSR-centric content, featuring the drivers and highlighting their role as micro-entrepreneurs. This content was shared online, increasing brand visibility and recognition.
Additionally, Travel Wings formalized the upliftment of a number of affiliated micro-enterprise drivers by giving them additional monthly income, supporting both their families and their communities, tying CSR directly into the campaign mechanics.

Results
The campaign delivered strong outcomes across both reach and impact. Over six months, the bikes logged 482,309-plus km, and 84,848 flyers were hand-delivered. Online and offline exposure were both significant, with over 200,000 engagements and views, including more than 100,000 real-world impressions and 100,000+ online views generated through social media showcasing the drivers’ stories.

Because of early success, the campaign was extended beyond its initial term. Travel Wings renewed the campaign for a further three months after their pilot campaign, with further extensions planned, underlining that the dual goals of reach + upliftment were being met.
