Although Travelwings was already well established internationally, entering the South African market required more than simply launching a website or running digital ads. The brand needed a go-to-market (GTM) strategy - essentially, a clear and deliberate plan for how they would introduce themselves to South African consumers, build awareness, earn credibility, and drive people to actively use their platform.

For a brand entering the South African market for the first time, Travelwings needed more than static visibility. Solution

MotionAds deployed Travelwings branding across delivery bike boxes operating in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town - transforming each bike into a moving billboard. Unlike static OOH placements, these bikes travel through residential neighbourhoods, business districts and high-traffic zones daily, allowing brands like Travelwings to achieve repeated exposure in the exact areas where their target audience lives and works.

To maintain strong brand consistency, the box artwork remained uniform across cities. The flyers, however, were used as the primary engagement and localisation tool. Each flyer creative featured an interactive QR code and copy talking to their latest deals and offers, allowing consumers to instantly scan and engage with the Travelwings platform on their mobile devices. This bridged the gap between physical OOH exposure and digital action: turning awareness into measurable engagement. In the second phase of their in-home flyer distribution, the flyers subtly referenced skyline imagery (Johannesburg or Cape Town) helping the message feel locally relevant and intentional, and because these flyers were hand-delivered alongside food orders, they reached consumers at a moment of high attention: inside their homes, rather than being ignored or discarded.

Finally, the campaign was supported by social media activations. MotionAds captured content of drivers and their bikes, sharing stories and moments - including CSR-driven content like Mandela Day features, which helped humanise the campaign and strengthen Travelwings’ credibility and community impact.

From a brand perspective, this approach delivered a full-funnel solution: visibility on the streets, engagement at the doorstep, and conversion online. For Travelwings, MotionAds provided a turnkey GTM channel - removing the need for additional logistics or complex campaign infrastructure.
